April 3, 2008 10:48 pm Random SuetI know I know old topic hohum everyone else talked about this already but when I talked about it the last time, I didn’t know I can submit the entry and win RM100! Being the Suet that I am, must seize the opportunity again lah right? (cough kiasu cough) (cough again money minded cough)
Anyway I’m not lying for the sake of getting money when I say I do watch Malaysian Dreamgirl religiously ok. I even refresh it twice a day sometimes and if there’s a new episode then yay! if there isn’t any I’ll just solemnly continue my other work (a variety of other stuff like watching drama, surf blogs, google my name wtf). Haih I’m sorry I fail you Mt Holyoke for not doing my work like how a good student would =(
Ok back to MDG.
EH BRB EPISODE 9 IS OUT! =D tee hee
Ok anyway yeah I wouldn’t really say I like the show that’s why I’m watching it but I think I like watching it cause it’s Malaysian. Watching America’s Next Top Model is fun yeah, but you know deep inside that you’ll never get into the show. When I first started watching MDG, I kept telling myself that hey I can join also leh! (but that was before I knew it’s actually a model search in disguise =.= if like that then I confirm cannot join lah). Ok let me tell you what I think of every contestant!
1. Adeline
I don’t know why everyone has a problem with her being Ah Lian lor. Ah lians not humans ar now? wtf. In fact, I don’t know what everyone’s problem with ah lians in general. Just because you’re English educated doesn’t warrant you the right to condemn people who are not. (as you can see i’m still very fired up about the whole judging people thing from my bus incident wtf)
Anyway I’m neutral with Adeline. She’s sorta pretty and her body is nice but she doesn’t stand out that much to me.
2. Cindy
She very bitchy meh? I’ve seen wayyy bitchier girls in ANTM but ya I guess in comparison with other ‘angelic’ girls in the house, she’s portrayed as the mean one. I think she’s really pretty and she too has a nice body. I don’t really like her personality though (only judging from how she was portrayed in the show!) But give the poor girl a chance! She keeps getting all the bullets leh so poor thing.
One thing I’ve learned from all that 9 seasons of ANTM is that the mean, bitchy and despicable ones always last till the very end. Not sure about this show since it’s based on votes (which I hate very much).
3. Eyna
Victoria Beckham? hahahhaa she looks more like a policewoman to me. I don’t know why but every time I see her, I’ll imagine her in a policewoman uniform. NO not in a sexy way wtf but more like kadet remaja sekolah way WTF. She does look good in these pictures though..
oops she just got eliminated..boohoo now she can go back to akademi polis wtf
4. Fiqa
She used to be my favorite but I dunno why I don’t like her as much anymore. Her smile looks fake in the first pic haha. I still like her more compared to the rest cause she doesn’t seem pretentious but oh well..good luck.
p.s: Audrey has the exact same dress! (it’s the one she wore in the toilet where you guys said has detachable sleeves hahahha. $69 from bebe so expensive!)
5. Hanis
Teehee Hanis is my favorite now! I used to have only Malays as friends up till when I was 15 and whenever I hear her speak Malay, it reminds me of all my best friends and home so much =( And since I’m fairly proficient in Malay (eh actually, make that VERY proficient haha) so I don’t have a problem with her speaking Malay all the time. In fact, she’s really funny also! She’s not pretentious and she’s cute, makes me feel like she’s already my friend in a way.

6. Jay
Ermmmm…I would choose Alison over her. “nuff said? she seems really nice and all that but just doesn’t stand out much to me.
7. Nadia
She looks SOOOO pretty here! I like Nadia too but I have mixed feelings about her. Sometimes I feel she’s okay sometimes not. But I like how she just oozes with confidence! There’s no such thing as overconfidence so yay you go girl!
8. Ringo
Ok finally, the whole blogosphere’s favorite! I shall refrain from giving bad comments cause I swear I’ll come back from class and see my whole door covered with paint wtf. Ringo is a friend of mine so I know her personally and yeah she’s really sweet and nice. BUT she’s not my favorite cause she doesn’t stand out much. She’s very quiet but I think she’s changing lah in the show, which is good I guess.
Wah I can’t believe I wrote so much about girls. Some things I don’t like about the show: (but i think huiwen did a better job than i did)
1. There are too much unnecessary parts! Like the whole part 1, 2 AND 3 are about the controversy in the house. I don’t really care about that la! The best parts are the photoshoot and the judging part where we can see the final products so please show more of that ok?
2. Like what huiwen said, WHERE are the judges leh? What are their roles?? Why call them judges when Sazzy who’s supposedly the host gets to talk about the pictures?? And why call them judges when they don’t judge the competition at all?
3. Continuation from no.2. I personally HATE competitions that are solely based on public’s votes. Yes I know you want to increase revenue but maybe you should like, make use of the judges and let them judge first? Let them ‘deliberate’ (haha tyra’s fav word!), let them choose the bottom 3 or something then let the public vote!
Otherwise, I think the show’s pretty alright for our standard. I’m gonna forgive the whole copying ANTM part cause haih I’m beyond the point where I expect anything original from Malaysia already haha.

p.s: I just realized that I was sooo nice about my comments about the girls. That’s cause I don’t find any of them truly as annoying as Jimmy the ‘judge’. I’m using the term judge very very loosely here. He is the epitome of annoyance wtf so DAMN ANNOYING I CAN’T STAND HIM! His accent is 104204 times worse than Cindy’s and he keeps mentioning that he’s some top stylist blabla and he dresses like a cowboy =.=
p.p.s: If I joined and I had to do this photo shoot, I would have failed VERY very miserably. 1. Cause I have the ugliest smile in the world and 2. no seriously you don’t even wanna see me smiling that wide ever. I’m serious I’m not saying this so people will go no laaa your smile very nice whaaat like a thin girl saying she’s fat but more like a 300 pound girl acknowledging she’s fat wtf. That’s why I can never go on tv T___T

personality: lacks integrity and backbone. the fact that she returned to mdg after bashing the quality of decision-making by the judges just speaks volume. i mean, speaking one’s mind is fine, even admirable, and standing up for it can be laudable, depending on how strong one’s argument or reasoning is. but what she did is completely hypocritical. it is as if one proclaims a product’s quality as questionable but still purchases or endorses it. if the judgments made in the auditions are as pariah she appears to claim, then why did she bother returning upon recalled? and now her own judgment is made worse by her (belated) apology to other contestants, if she felt remorseful after making that entry, she would have tender the apology whether she did ended up being called back to mdg or not. but i guess we will never know that. in conclusion: she lacks integrity and doesnt appear mature enough to even make up her mind on her own stand. on the physical side, she is not ugly, but she is not stunning either - her looks doesnt warrant a second look at all, in other words, i agree with u, she doesnt stand out. period.

another $0.02 take: she probably wrote the original post after suffering from some ego-bruising of not being in the top12 and wished for some empathy/reassurance. elaine daly was right in saying she is overconfident, esp after she refuses to answer the question on the saddest moment. it is not a matter of whether u think the question is too private, it is a matter of how u can contruct an excellent response that not only conveys your so-called saddest moment, but also portrays your strong character in overcoming it. that is what i would call an intelligent answer IMHO.
sometimes i wonder if her barrage of fans pimping her blog and/or voting for her actually thought through the above. i have nothing against her, and hopefully i m not offending u as someone who knows her personally, but i decided to voice out my throughts because looking through her mdg-self-promoting blog entries, one would notice that there is almost no discussion there, just (blind?) praises after praises.
so to malaysian voters out there, vote wisely, and vote for someone worthy.

Initialy I didn’t have any favorites..but after a few episodes I started to like Hanis..Cos she’s just so sweet and not pretentious like the rest. Fiqa not bad also la I think.
And about Ringo rite..hmm..I have a feeling that she’s gonna win cos she has so many supporters and since the show is based on public voting then yeah..she might win..whether or not she deserves to. But honestly, she’s not really model material and she doesn’t stand out much.

I think ringo has a high chance of winning because of her large fan base eventho she isn’t the the best in this competition. that’s quite unfair coz the best may not win and the worst may not be the one who will be eliminated. Pity Enya, i thought she’s a model material.
and i agree with you about the judges’ role. WHERE ARE THEY!?!?! Why arent they judging?? Why is Sazzy giving comments like she knows it all? Aih anyway, Fiqa is my fav but then i heard some ppl saying that she’s very flirtatious? guess we just have to keep watching to find out..

You are so genuine in the comment about Ringo! Which is a total compliment! =) I totally despise with the whole voting system thing. To me, it does not justify AT ALL who actually deserve to win because they REALLY have the quality of a model and not blindly based those votes! Are they even choosing Malaysian dream girl or Malaysian most-liked girl? Besides that, i feel that it’s a total wastage of sources to have all the hassles for photo shoots. What’s the use of those photos when it doesn’t even ensure you to stay on even if you have the best shoots? And regarding the Audition, when she* was being asked the question “saddest moment” i was actually thinking about mine for some reason (which was my mother’s demise). I was very disappointed with the way she answered the judges. She should understand the fact that the judges want to see how spontaneous you are when given impromptu questions and NOT really wanting to know your saddest moment. But she responded in the most unappealing way. So even if she won, there’s really nothing much to go hoo-haa about as she doesn’t know how to bring out the best in her. After all, i thought “Malaysian Dreamgirl” are supposed to be girls that make us girls go “OMG!!! SO PRETTY!!” and guys go “DAMN, SHE’S HOT!!!!!!” You get the picture. Anyway, that’s just my random opinions and no offense to anyone out there.

jennifer, tze, elaine: i second you guys. based on the q&a and her performance right from the beginning, ringo has no smarts, personality nor the physical attributes AT ALL to be a model. in fact, i think she looks so bland.
if she wins, she will be the most undeserving mdg winner. and yes elaine, seriously no hoo-haa since the contest is totally not based on merit
which brings the fact that i absolutely despise the sms voting system. it is really a popularity, rather than a talent contest. malaysia boleh YEAH RIGHT. geez

I watch MDG too. But 80% of it is boring crap.
I just click through all the boring talk and gossip until I get to the last 2 parts. That’s what’s important right. Challenges, photoshoot and elimination.
I wish they would just get rid of the first 2-3 parts - just cut the talking/bitching to 1 part. Geez.

but seriously i feel cindy is pathetic. When asking how she felt about ringo coming back she said,” well, if we treat her badly.she cant blame us.” she said it as though she is part of the u noe, clique?
but now, ringo is in the clinque and everyone hates her.pathetic.
i think ringo is okay, i mean its true that some of the girls that didnt got through are indeed better than some of the finalists.i feel that post is more of the girls she met that she feels should be the finalists that about herself should remain in the compeition.

for pictures wise, i think my fav is eyna leh! i mean so far she looked really great in photos although not so much in ‘motion’(video). but i really think she needs to do something abt the gap in her teeth la, she’ll look so much better.

Reader commented that Ringo’s blog like a fan site but its not is it??? It’s a blog and as such dont filter the comments by people who visit her blog…
As much as i don’t like Kenny’s blogging i’ll have to say that at least he takes the bad as well as the good comments…
i believe Ringo will win coz of her fanbase(a bunch of fanatics if you ask me) not on merit… of the girls who are left… Jay, Nadia and Hanis are the ones who i think should be in the final three… BUT……
PS: before you come after me… i don’t hate Ringo.. she seems nice… but i just don’t see a model when i look at her… only those wearing Ringo tinted glasses will see that..
